Rehaka suggested getting the Physics Force to pefrom at MCTC.

I saw them last year and they were spectacular.
How does it sound for us to do it in the theater,
in the evening, open to science club friends and family first (max at 4 ticket each???) and then open to rest of student body?

Their events are free and first come first serve, but perhaps we could cordon off a section for the club.

Since the event will be free, we cannot call it as "tickets" as per the info in the advisor handbook. Instead, before you announce it for the entire college, have the RSVP open for the Science Club members (they RSVP by a certain cut-off date for max 4 or 5 seats each). Then, during the event, just keep the number of seats marked as "reserved"  for those who RSVPd.

I will be contacting the Physics Force next week and get the ball rolling to determine the possible dates of availability, their fee, etc.

Physics Force Details:  I talked to the Physics Force people.  Their cost would be $500 (five hundred dollars).  They have several types of demos and they will pick and choose depending on what type of facilities and infrastructure we will have. I have given the descrïption of our auditorium in the Helland Center and they will be getting back to me about the types of demos and possible dates of availability this Fall. I have asked for their one hour shows (which is the longest they do).

I think they are well worth the cost, after seeing their performance at the Northrup.  Mainly because they are so effortlessly entertaining and engaging.  We could also look into the school's fundraising rules and coordinate like a bake sale for the event to re-coup so of the costs.  Of course....then we need volunteer bakers....Tanya??? (I have flour and waaaaaay too much powdered sugar.)

I'm totally up for a bakesale....but I don't think that the school allows bakesales unless we purchase the goods....already made, which is of course beside the point...
But I'll look into it.
:-)
And we can also ask for funding from the Student Senate...later on if we run out.
