So far, I'm not really sure.  We'll need money for the concessions the day of the event so we'll need the purchase order in by 30th of this month in order to get the money by the 13th which will give us one week to shop.

I'm not sure how to get these people and our volunteers lunch.
My preference would be to cater a small amount from the Wedge's deli which is amazing, good, and unfortunately expensive.  But they're local and buy local so that's a plus.  And they're close...

I'm wondering to if we could get a small number of semi-nice looking invitations to give to the pres. of mctc and some other faculty?  What do we think of this idea?  I'm lukewarm on it.

Here's the link to the wedge's deli.
On the sidebar menu there's a link to their catering menu PDF.
I personally know what everything tastes like so I'd be very happy to put something together.

I'm still waiting on the info from Sally for the requisition form.  I was hoping she would email the info we needed and then fax an invoice to Kirk, but so far nothing...
As soon as I get something (either from Sally or Kirk) I'll get it to Ben.

Are we alllowed to bring food to the event that isn't catered by the school?  I thought there was something about us needing to get catering through the school.  Anyone?

I remember this being mentioned but I also remember that getting a purchase order for catering from elsewhere was okay too....is this a Tara question?

Okay I placed the order at the wedge and go their tax I.D. number.
I ordered:
*1 med. sandwich tray (feeds 20-25) this was the smallest they had (will be a mix of veggie and meat sandwiches)
*1 sm. veggie tray with hummus and a walnut/pecan pate (two yummy dips that are both vegetarian)
*1 sm. sweets tray (cookies and bars)

I opted against getting separate meals for the Plantarium folks, since it added complexity when I tried to create balanced food choices for the day.  This had to do with the portioning of the catering menu.  I just got what was cheapest, easiest and offered the most variety.

I also mentioned that we'd prefer the least amount of packaging possible.

This food will be really good.  I know, as I've eaten it all.

The total came to $104.48 and I think that on the day I'll pick up some crackers and juice too.  I can also get a box of coffee from my work, they're $11 and the coffee's great.  I think they're 1/2 a gallon.

I talked with my manager about biodegradable cups and good news!  They're easy to get.  The company that my work gets them from allows you to just drive up and buy them and they are over....shit I don't quite recall but in the city.

So, I will call them Monday.  For 250 20oz. cups it's like $70....they're super expensive.
BUT, it's a priority and we can get much smaller once, 20oz. is the largest size.

Great maybe you should e-mail ben with the tax id/ vendoer stuff so he can fill out the appropriate forms (there are 3 i believe for food) and get those approved on Monday.  I vote for smaller cups like 8oz?  you know the dixie cups.
