We need to spend our money that was given to us by the Senate and request more funds.

I think our new funds request should be

1200 exploradome - next spring?
300 projects - I just picked this #  if we dont spend this years allocation I doubt we will get this much.  We could use it for bridge demo wind mills etc.
1000 for conferences - pay for transport and extra tickets to nobel  pay for transport and tickets to lifescience alley.  Both conferences take place in the fall.  Lifescience alley is one day $75.00
500 for speakers? Give a guest speaker $100.00  maybe we could get some really good guest speakers or just support some poor grad student?  I dont know it was just a thought.
We can also throw in some money for Kirk.  advisor's can get paid for the time they donate to the club.  They don't get a lot like $130 bucks or something.  But maybe we should look into it.  I am  not sure as to the stipulations.

let med know your thoughts

I also think that we should aim to get the nobel conference covered by the school...perhaps transportation and hotel rooms.  If we can get together a list of the number of mctc students who have gone for the past two years, perhaps we could propose enough to cover the entire trip (just not meals).
I definitely like the idea of having the exploradome come again next year, especially if Wednesday is a success.
We should look into getting the stipend for Kirk, although I don't think that that comes out of our budget.  I'll ask Charles (the director of finance) about stipends for advisors on Tuesday.

Just off the top of my head:
The nobel conference usually falls in the middle of the week and the talks are done, I think by 5pm.  I'm not sure if going over night would be worthwhile without some extra-curricular events planned.  Group transport would be great.  I'd love to bike, personally....I'd be down for organizing some kind of bike/camp scenario.  And I'd LOVE to get a RIDE back.
Maybe less for speakers, if we only have 9 meetings a year, how many speakers could we find?  How many meetings do we want to monopolize....although, we could do a smashing panel discussion.  (and we all know how I feel about those....)
What about a Science Fair?
I think the amounts overall are good...
we can always ask for more and give back some.  Frowned upon or not, we all have limitations into our ability to accurately forecast.  And that ought to be a consideration.
Also, I bet 10to1 that if we get Kirk a stipend, he'll just put it back into the club.
So yeah, I guess my bottom line is:
greenlight!
Go with it.
Sounds good to me.
