About this project....
What I for see happening is we'll plant the seedlings and sometime before the end of Spring semester we'll have plants to display.  But how to draw attention to them?
Sure, on there own they will generate attention, interest.  But I can't help but think that they could be made into more of a conversation/education piece but hosting some event.  Perhaps we could partner with 3LF to have an event where we'd talk about issues of sustainability on the MCTC campus with the student body and we could invite lecturers to give discussions on the same topic.
Below is a link to the U of M's press release hallmarking the emergence of biofuels as the most viable alternative energy source.  Maybe we could contact the professors involved, as a start.

The state DNR has looked into the affects of biofuels and habitat in the state here is a link.  Possible lecture topics here.

I will also discuss what this grad student does in her research.  I have to reread her paper on pretreatment of cellulosic material for ethanol production before I talk to her though.  If this is all she can talk about I am not sure how many people would be interested in it.  I will try to get my book back from Kirk.

I'll see if 3LF is doing their sustainability fair this semester. We could have a table and get lecturers too!

Here's the DNR's Conservation Volunteer article on it: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/volunteer/index.html
