There's the...
* molecular gastronomy "ravioli"
*hydrogen soap bubbles (perhaps not one for home...)
*the egg in vinegar thing
I also have a book that Kirk loaned me to go through to find some.

mm sf6 very dense gas things float on it.  like a paper boat.  Maybe frank could make a tesla coil?
Santoso might be able to make something as well.
I think I will make a dimensional portal I'll keep everyone informed.

I think our demos will be good; entertaining, exciting, informative.  Do we want to have an "experiments" theme?  We could wrap up by chatting about experiments we've done, things we like about the process, frustrating aspects...I know that I'd have stuff to contribute on this front and Bryan definitely would....anyone (wait, what am I saying) Tanya what about you?
Do we think this might be a good way to fill time meaningfully?
We could call the meeting, I heart experiments?

I heart experiments!
I think the demos will take up more time than we think.  I'm not sure if I'm going to do the rock candy one...I'll see if I have time to learn about it.  I certainly don't see a problem with us chatting about experiments at the end, if we have time.

Since I can't make it to this meeting to do the dress rehearsal can someone please e-mail me to let me know what experiments/demos are going to be shown and who is going to do them?
I'd like us to have at least five different ones and I'm willing to do more than one in order to help us obtain that figure.

So Kirk said he was going to send everyone an email, since I haven't gotten one my guess is he forgot or ran out of time...
We didn't do a run through, we talked about the demos we're going to do, somewhat definitely, this coming Friday.
We're doing the egg/sheet one, bristle bots, maybe the egg and vinegar, maybe rock candy, thermite, and the one you want to do.  I can't remember which one that is.
If we run out of things to do, we'll talk about the budget for next year, the projects we plan on doing next year, and the hydroponic field trip.
Also, I talked to Laura Fedock on Wednesday (she's responsible for the student news paper) and had her put in there the meeting date, time, and place (please tell me it's in K3360!!)
Sound good?

yup, it's in K-3360, yup sounds pretty good.

Do you know who's doing what?
I'm thinking that it would be great if Kirk wasn't explaining everything.  But I understand if people don't have time to research their demonstration.  I'd just like this portion to be as full and nerdy as possible....(ie: lots of info.)
What do you think?
Either way, it sounds like we have lots of filler....

Bryan is doing his bristle bots, you're doing the demo you want to do....(I can't remember what that is exactly), I think we'll trek outside to do thermite, throwing an egg at a sheet, an egg in vinegar to see osmosis, and I might do rock candy.  Ben can't make it to the meeting because of prior committments.  And Frank said he might try to build a mini trebuchet...we'll see what happens.  Regardless, you, Bryan, and myself each of something (I'm going to try really hard to get the rock candy going), and Kirk has a couple.

Okay, this sounds promising...I think I may try and find another experiment that involves bubbles.  (I'm doing the natural gas soap bubbles demonstration.)  In order to have a theme.

I'm not sure if I already mentioned this or not but I didn't e-mail Kris about posters on Sat like I wanted to I decided not to ask her.
She e-mailed me wondering on Sun and I told her if she had time to do it, but I haven't heard back from her yet.
So, I'm thinkin'....no posters this meeting.
Sorry!

Ok....I announced it in student senate yesterday, and it was put in the student news earlier this week.  Also, I won't be doing the rock candy demo...i ran out of time this week preparing for an exam I have tomorrow morning.  On the plus side, we have a fermentation demo instead!
